Monica Colton

Nurse Practitioner

Monica started her medical career over 20 years ago in high school through a program called Youth Apprenticeship. The program helped students earn credits toward graduation by working after school. She received her certification as a nurse aide at Southland Nursing and Rehabilitation in Peachtree City, Georgia. She continued to work as a CNA following graduation, including caring for her mom who became ill later that year and passed away months later. At this moment in Monica’s life she felt pain but also gratitude to have been her mother’s caregiver. For 14 years, Monica worked as a CNA and caring for others became her passion. Monica then decided to attend nursing school and graduated from the West Georgia Technical College 2010 Practical Nursing Program. She has worked with geriatrics most of her nursing career and she absolutely loves it!
