Marissa Brown
Executive Director
Marissa was born and raised in Newnan, Georgia. While in high school she obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant and began to work at Monarch House. After graduating from Northgate High School, she attended Columbus State University and obtained her Patient Care Technician at Piedmont Hospital. After moving to Columbus, she realized that family is one of her top priorities and support systems, so she moved back to Newnan. She is now attending the University of West Georgia to obtain her BSN/RN degree. Her future goal is to obtain her Master’s Degree in Nursing.
Marissa is a Certified Assisted Living Director, Certified Medication Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Technician. Wound Care Trained along with Med-Surge and ER trained.
Shortly after moving back to Newnan, her grandfather became ill and after helping her family care for him; she soon realized that helping the elderly was something that she is very passionate about! Marissa’s passion is to help others better understand their bodies, achieve their recovery goals, and understand their options and opportunities after retirement. She felt led to be in this field due to her strong connection to her community and family. She recently welcomed her first child into the world in March of 2025. He comes and visits us and brightens our day! She looks forward to this journey with all the residents, families, and staff alike. Empathy, Compassion, and organization are some attributes that radiate to our residents. She strives to make Monarch a Home Away from Home for each resident.
Eleanor Florence
Resident Care Coordinator
Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Eleanor has lived a life of adventure and compassion. Eleanor has three adult children and shortly after they started their own lives she relocated to Newnan, GA in 2014 for a fresh start and a change of atmosphere. Eleanor never expected to find such passion in the medical field. Initially, Eleanor started in the medical field as a housekeeper at the hospital and was given the opportunity to interact with elderly clients and immediately found her calling. In 1995 Eleanor attended Georgia State Technical College in Valdosta and received her CNA certification. Eleanor has been a CNA/CMA since 1995 and has over 35 years of experience in this field! Her passion and dedication to her residents make her stand out above other caregivers. Ensuring that each resident that she cares for has the best quality of life.
Eleanor’s passion has always been to help others and to improve their quality of life. From making sure her residents are clean and cared for to managing their medication and care plans she has had a hand in every aspect of care. Eleanor has worked in hospice, end of life care, restorative care, rehabilitation, and eventually settled into Assisted Living Care. These experiences have impacted on her life in many ways, broadening her viewpoint on quality care and many characteristics that she now demonstrates in her work.
Eleanor joined the Monarch House Team in 2022 as a CMA and worked on the floor for 2 years. She then became a leader among our staff and worked alongside Marissa to train and become our Resident Care Manager. She graciously accepted the position in June of 2025. Eleanor has been a major asset to our company!
Communication, empathy, pride and quality care are only a few aspects that she strives to show and give to everyone that she encounters. While Eleanor never expected to have this career, but it turned out to change her life and to allow her to give a little bit of herself to everyone she helps. Eleanor’s goal at Monarch is to ensure that every resident is properly cared for and is happy with their decision to move to Monarch, she will always do this to the best of her ability!
Cynthia Wright Blossomgame
Activities Director
Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Cynthia’s journey has been defined by compassion, resilience, and a deep commitment to serving others. In the 1970s, her family relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where she graduated from Sylvan Hills High School and pursued Fashion Design at the Art Institute of Atlanta. Though creativity was her first calling, life led her toward a new path-one rooted in healthcare and healing.
Cynthia’s transition into the medical field was inspired by love and family. When her brother became quadriplegic, she became certified through the renowned Shepherd Center in Atlanta to provide him with specialized care until his passing. This experience ignited a lifelong dedication to healthcare. She earned credentials as a Certified Massage Therapist from Atlanta Medical Institute and continued her education at Woodruff Medical & Testing Institute of DeKalb, becoming certified as a Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician.
With over 30 years of experience in the medical field, Cynthia brings not only expertise but also heart to everything she does. In 2024, she added a new skill to her repertoire-earning certification as an information Technician, driven by her love of technology and learning.
In April 2025, Cynthia joined Monarch House of Newnan as a temporary Activities Director, stepping in during a time of need. Her natural warmth, creativity, and genuine care for residents quickly made her an irreplaceable part of the community. She soon accepted the role permanently, becoming a beloved presence among residents, families, and staff alike.
Cynthia’s story is one of adaptability, empathy, and unwavering dedication. Her passion for people and her ability to foster joy and connection make her a perfect fit for Monarch House- and a true inspiration to all who meet her.
Jessica Jaquess
Kitchen Manager
Born and raised in Coweta County Jessica’s life has been filled with love and compassion. With two adult sons her life stays busy! Jessica’s love for food is nothing new to her family. With her Grandfather and Mother both owning restaurants; love for food runs to her core! Her sister and brother-in-law are known caterers in Newnan; and it has even spread to her eldest son who loves his Culinary job!
Jessica has been in the food industry for over 30 years. Starting small as a waitress to management her vast experience brings bright things to Monarch House. She started in the food industry when she was only 15 years old; her experience has ranged anywhere from restaurants to catering. Jessica has been a restaurants manager, bar manager and caterer for many years. Her love for food and attention to detail has helped her excel in this field. She graduated from Gordon College with an associate’s degree and went to West Georgia Tech for a business degree.
Jessica worked for Monarch a couple different times as a temp agent. She grew to love our facility and being around the Residents, God opened many doors for her to come back in February 2025, and we are blessed to have her. Her love for food and to make the residents happy truly radiates in everything she does.
Jessica will tell anyone that her life has not been easy, but she has overcome all obstacles and has found her calling. Her empathy, compassion, and love for every resident is something that she holds onto daily. Her meals and execution are like no other, bringing fresh and nutritious foods to every meal. Jessica continuously brings well-rounded meals and new ideas to the table; she strives to cater to every resident, offering different ethnic foods and over 10 alternatives for lunch and dinner. We truly look forward to seeing what all Jessica has in store for Monarch.
